No Country For Old Men

yea, i think the mexicans did take it, but idk because they took off so fast..
did lewelen even get it back after he threw it off the mexican/ texas boarder? i cant remember..
I think he did. I don't Think tommy got it, because he came after the fact, and the vent was already removed when he came back at night. Besides, he wouldn't have ever known to look there in the fist place. You do see Sugar handing the kids at the end a fresh $100, but that doesn't mean it came from the bag, as he never had any trouble coming by money, cars, weapons etc, as thats just his nature.

he doesnt "win" persay.. he gets away, but not w/o some balltle wounds =]
i didnt really want sugar to get caught.. i kinda like him, but i was PISSED when luellen got killed, he was the MAN!
I think its a win for the bad guys

-Sugar gets away

-Luellen is dead

-Tommy Lee retires...defeated

It shows how in real life, even heroes are vulnerable. It's pretty obvious that his main attention was towards Sugar, and thats who he was preparing for battle with. Even the most strong and cunning can bite the dust, especially when about 10 crazy Mexicans with automatic weapons come out of left field. I felt extra bad for him after seeing all the shit he went through almost dieing, and sneaking across the border. He finally makes it through, then all the sudden BAM! He's cut down in an instant. But hey, I guess that goes back to the old saying "shit happens". Very sobering example of how bad things happen to good people to say the least. Kinda freaks me out realizing that theres so many things in life that are up to chance...I could get T-Boned by a big rig driving home from work tonight for all I know.

Saw it this weekend, enjoyed it.

Do you really think it represented all of that? What did you think of the ending? What do you think it implied from there? Interested in your opinion.

So did that mean he killed him or not. I was a little confused of about that part. Because it could mean he'll just kill him because he saw him, or he was saying "you didn't see me" and let him live. Like when he didn't kill those kids at the end and walked away.
Considering the character, what do you think? lol

I took it as..."You see me, right? Well then Im going to kill you."

Which elevates his badassness.

Also, I was a fan of Chigurh too (I don't like to spell a hardass's name as sugar).

I don't think we are supposed to know what happened to the money, because for both Tommy and Chigurh, it wasn't about the money. I thought Chigurh had it in the car with him at the end, and then just left it...but I'll have to watch it again.

And also the ending is justified if you will listen closely to what Tommy Lee Jones says in the beginning, as well as Carson Well's description of Chigurh.

I thought Sugg had the money b/c at the end hes not surprised when the gf says she doesnt have it. Plus when Tommy is in the room you see the vent cover is removed with a coin, like you saw when Sugg was searching the first hotel. But why would Sugg go to the other room in the second hotel (adjacent to the one Tommy went to) instead of simply leaving?

Other things I didnt get, Sugg gets shot, leaves his shotgun as he flees, Lewelyn picks it up, but Sugg mysteriously gets his shotgun back.

Also how did Sugar know where to find the second hotel and the money since the transmitter had been removed?

And did Lewelyn go back that night to give the Mexican the gallon of water or do you think he wanted to get the heroin? Or did curiosity just get the best of him?
