I'm sure anyone thats into r/c cars will verify that this is a steal!!!
dont push your R/C on the guy, give him helpful information that would 1. keep him from blowing lots of money (which is very easy to do in this hobby) and 2. give him info that would keep him in the hobby for a long time and make that time enjoyable. while your Jato may be a good deal, is it a good deal for someone thats new to the hobby and wants to bash? I dont think so and only because hes new and the Jato is a 1/10 and they are usually not as tough as the 1/8ths. No offense meant man just stating my opinion.

No offense taken but Look at all the aluminum parts that are already on just the 3.3 jato alone, and there's tons of spare parts already included. It's by far ready to bash.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

May have been posted already but Revo 3.3

**** nice truck. Buddy has one and after you replace a few commonly broken parts and don't do anything stupid they can take a ton of punishment and keep going. We took it out to the skate park and where ramping it and doing 1080's and shit and man it was fun. Everytime it just got back up and kept going. The cover got scrathed and torn to crap but thats only $20 to replace and you can keep a show one in mint condition for when your just showing the truck to your friends and what not.

EDIT: Just read through the thread and I will reccomend not getting the jato... it is crazy fast but hard to control and easily damaged. buddy was out on the street with his and some loose gravel on the pavement caused it to swerve a bit and he couldn't regain control before clipping a parked cars tire. $300 and many hours of disassembly/reassembly and it was going again. But last checked he clocked it at 73 MPH //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

IMO, aluminum arms are a waste unless you like to replace bulkheads, chassis' and harder stuff to get to. Id MUCH rather replace a $4 arm that takes 10 mins than a $20 chassis that will take an hour plus.. But thats the racer in me speaking..... well basher as well.

By the way. whatever you buy, go on ebay and people run chop shops on all these cars.. Find a seller and buy a lot of suspect parts (arms, differentials, gear sets, axles and driveshafts) You can get a lot of them usually CHEAP and they combine shipping on multiple wins. Thats how I keep up my HUGE spares box at races and bash sessions, and I even used to be in the choppin thing just to support my hobby but it got to be too time consuming to buy a new truck, tear it down and list it then ship it all once the auction ends.

Good point!

I think you just told me how I am going to afford my revo!

what you guys think of ofna?
btw guys i'm not a noob at the nitro r/c scene just been out of it for 4-5 years
my limited experience with ofna is you have to be really into it to get into it... if that made any sense.

My buddy got a ofna pico for his revo and it was a ***** to tune. we never did get it right... then again we done claim to know completely what were doing lol. we also had to mod the engine mount in order to put in said "bolt on" motor.

EDIT: but man that pico was powerful!

ok what truck would you guys pick ready to run under 500?
AFTERSHOCK and a gallon for 450! I ended up with one. I like pretty much all the trucks on the market but everyone runs a Savage, the Revo and LST2 are expensive, the suspension in the Revo may be unique and well but it just doesnt look natural. The MGT4.6SS is hot but I read it has some issues and then the reverse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif The MGT 8.0 is craziness. On a side note, they had that 1/4 scale truck in the local shop what!

The Shock is a LST1 with some upgrades. The radio uses AM but its a JR, nice digital display etc. 3 hp from the motor, if I lean it out a little I could get it to mid 40's with the better pipe. Just remember to heat cycle it when you break it in, research!

Aluminum arms are not for bashing! period end of story.

OFNA is the shit! their Picco .28 is a beast but.... its a pita to tune because of the air leaks caused by the different materials that they make the thing out of, they just dont mate well.... carb leaks as well pretty bad... get it right tho and you cant beat the thing.

RTR bashing MT for under 500.00 I have to say the Savage X all day, every day.

my Savage X is still for sale, you can have it, 2 bodies (original and Semi-Truck) Axial .32, Upgraded 3 speed, original 2 speed ****** all for the low low price of 325.00 + shipping. and if I can find my original 4.6 that came with it you can have it too, nothing wrong with it just wanted the Axial in it..if youre in FL I can meet you **** near anywhere as I work all over this state!!

kinda on the fence about selling the buggy, I need something to play with right?

OFna makes good rides, but not really in the MT market. Their market focus is 1/8 scale buggy and truggy. If you are a racer, then the truggy class is the hottest thing right now.

Aftershock is an upgraded LST as stated, but the axles are weak and fail a lot. Upgrade to LST2 axles, BUT youll need to change arms, bellcranks, knuckles and bearings as well.

If you are a basher only and dont care about chassis geometry, get a set of RPM arms (unless you get a LST, they **** for that truck due to a turnbuckle in the middle of them) They are made of a flexible nylon-like material and are guaranteed against breakage. Us racers dont use them because they flex too much, and change steering geometry constantly due to the flex.

Another basher trick is to boil the plastic parts!!!! Arms, knuckles, bellcranks. By boiling, you ad moisture back into the plastic and make it more flexible rather than rigid and brittle. Dont get me wrong, these things are tanks for the most part, but when you are jumping a 10 pound truck 15 feet in the air, the forces on them are pretty rediculous!

Heres a vid of my LST hangin out in the air:

This one is just screwin around, before I decided Id take WOT runs at the ramp

Exactly , at least when you hit something with plastic it stands a chance of bending and returning to original shape.

I used to race Stock monster truck class at our local track until lack of interest killed the class

Ran a sport maxx .
