Nitro R/c Cars And Trucks

hpi baja5 lol its abaout 800 bux an runs off gas (no nitro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) and is 1/5th scale. there bad ***

Here are my race cars and beater truck lol. from left to right is a revo 2.5, mugen seiki mbx5R that is on a diet (7.36 lbs) and my AE FT T4. I quit racing my revo when I was getting faster lap times on the same track as the revo. I have 3 spare engines and 4 extra servos for the 2 race cars as well as 3 big boxes full of tires. Really waiting for the mbx6 to come out:veryhapp:. i started racing rcs back in 83 with a grasshopper and have owned the original RC10 (i actually used to finish mid pack racing against frogs and then rc10s on an offrad track and killed them alot of them on an oval lol), kyosho ultima (all decked out with a carbon fiber chassis ball diff and aluminum bell cranks), tamiya hotshot and losi jrx2 in the 80's. then i raced an associated 12L and associated gt then i got an RC18, the factory team T4 in the pic, the revo in the pic, 2 mugen mbx5's, a tc4, an xray 007, an AE B4 then last but not least the mbx5R.

I've always wanted to get into Gas remote controlled plains. My house overlooks a sunken park so I could just fly right off my porch. Anyone know a good site where I can look into this?

Ive driven and bashed a MGT pretty hard a few times (dont own one) and it stood up to some really harsh abuse. Just plain stupid jumps, etc. As for the Aftershock, the weak point on that is the drivetrain (axles are weak, and it has 14mm hexes in the wheels which makes them prone to stripping out) Since it has a big block in it, it has lots of torque to tear stuff up, and is going to use more fuel faster. BUT the size of the truck is impressive and the suspension soaks EVERYTHING up. If you can get the Aftershock for 320, you might want to check into getting a LST2 upgrade kit:

Comes with all the replacment parts to make that Aftershock almost bulletproof!

Another note: Isnt the Aftershock pull start? That can be a nightmare for a nitro noob. I beleive the MGT is both pull and rotary start

i would go with either the MGT or the savage. Bash both an they will stand up to almost anything. Ive beat the crap out of them things and they wanted more. Of course you will break something here an there but nothing major. Its gonna happen its the nature of the hobby

personally, you couldnt give me a CEN product.
you might beable to say that about CEN RTR monster trucks(the real big one had issues but its JUST HUGE) but a a truggy is built around an ease of maintainance that in itself makes it FAR better. even if something broke on a truggy it would be alot easier to fix than ANY monster truck. no plastic gears, no crazy assed gear shifters. THE drivetrain is all right there with STEEL gears. i would get miscellaneous drivetrain parts like set screws and joints and call it a day.
