Neaither is better just make sure the sub and amp are able to be hooked up together and be at the same ohm load or you will fry the amp most likely, dual like they said can give you more options for wireing so more options for what amp to get and most subs are dual today, example dual 2 ohm can be ran at 1 ohm or 4 ohm, single 2 ohm can be ran at 2 ohm. The most important thing is pick your sub before your amp then find a amp that can match its ohms. If you find an amp thats 1 ohm stable then you should be ok with any speaker but make sure its gonna produce the watts you need at the ohm you need dont buy an amp thats 1 ohm stable and can do 1000 watts at 1 ohm and need 1000 at 2 ohms you wont get it just read the manual on most amps and its self explains. Dont be cheap eaither you usualy get what you pay for although some cheaper subs perform well be carefull on your first buy dont buy something your going to regret then have to spend more money to change it in a few months because your not happy.
