... Just a quick note to say Hi. I am new to the advanced car audio upgrade world and will be using your opinions and experiences to assist me in selecting and installing audio equipment in my 90' Acura Legend L. I'm in the low cash flow mode and presently have a Kenwood KDC 516S, CD Receiver installed and a Kenwood KDC-C602 10 Disk Compact Disk Auto Changer connected but temporarily laying on the rear floorboard. The front door speakers had lost all of their foam surrounds so I installed a couple of 6 1/2" Cerwin-Vega SS-602 that came from somewhere in my past and that's where I'm at so far. TIA

What's your budget?? What kind of sound do you want? Are you wanting a complete system or just subs/amp? How much space do you want to give up?

I have a 2 door car. I want to go to a complete system which will include a 4 channel amp for the 4 6 1/2" speakers, (thinking component set for doors), and a amplifier with a sub. I want to give up a little as possible space and I figure $800-$1000 total, however it will have to be piece by piece due to low funding.

I think your best bet is to ditch the rear speakers and put that money towards better comps in the front doors.

I agree and that is the present plan of activity. The fronts were all I had at the time. I am thinking JBL's all around, maybe GTO607c's in the front and GTO627's in the rear. I'm also looking at an Infinity 7541a 4 channel amp. Am I thinking wrong...
