I have 2 12' JL Audio W6's with 2 Phoenix Gold QX 4150 amps and 1 cap, The way it is hooked up is that I have 1 amp for each sub and for some reason the amps are over heating and they are cutting out and when they cool the subs come back on. Help please! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I want to know why the hell he's using two 4channel amps to power his subs??.

Definatly not because he couldn't afford a real sub amp.

Did you get suckered by some ******* salesman?.

lol no i bought this off my brother he had a bunch of different stuff. He had the subs and he sold the original amp and he knew someone that was selling these amps. so i bought them
Okay... not important. What is the voice coil configuration for your subs? (HOW MANY OHMS PER VOICE COIL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

they are 2 ohms going to each amp

I assume you mean each voice coild is 2 ohms, if so, then you are giving the amps too low of an impedance and that is why theyre over heating. You need to rewire your subs and amp. You will lose power, bad choice on the amps... If you do not fix this problem you will continue to over heat the amps, and eventually fry them. I say sell them and buy one mono amplifier, that puts out its full power at 2 ohms.
