Hello all, I'm new to car audio but not new to wiring and electronics.

I just installed two rather cheap JVC 6.5" speakers in my doors and I'm looking to install an amp and sub. I'm thinking of mounting my sub just under my head unit because I have open space there I never use and I think it would look kinda cool.

Here are the items I'm looking at buying. Is this overkill on the amp? I like the idea of the sub amp remote though since the sub will be close to me.

Is it true I should do line-in and RCA input at the same time? Do the RCA jacks carry all frequencies? And what gauge speaker wring should I run from the amp to the speakers? I'm looking at 16AWG.

Amp: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004S4XNKI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Sub: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QCGI56/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2TGMCZ4O2P52Z

Thanks

use either low or high, not both. RCA is preferred if you have the ability. and yes, RCA outputs should be full range.

Your amp choice is fairly weak. For the same money you'd be better off with a used amp of higher quality.

This is my thought as well. Would be a much better box volume if you could buy the 12" version of those subs.
