Newbie subwoofer repair question. IDMax10

I've had a IDMax 10v3 for a couple years now and I loved it. Last week I heard a loud pop in my trunk. So I went to check it out, and it turns out that the cone/diaphragm has a hole in it. Don't have a picture of it right now, but it popped a inch hole right inside the edge around the image dynamics dust cap. The sub still works but just makes random crackling sounds.

Should I get a complete recone kit from ID and try fixing it myself?

Also, if I were to get the recone kit, how difficult would it be to get it done? I've never repaired a sub in my life...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
