Newbie question: Tuning box?

How do you know what frequency your box is tuned to, and how do you tune it. And while we're at it, what's the avereage frequncy that you tune to for daily and for sound quality. It depends what kind of driver ur using. is your box ported cause if its not you cant tune a sealed box.

Great, thanks for the info. Didn't realize that people were refering to tuning the ports. Hehe. Again, thanks for your help. I was planning on going sealed anyway, just checking for info that I may have missed before I start building it.
