Ok reading this site and others has me NOT wanting a cap.... so I plan to go with an extra battery in the trunk, and plan to use a kinetic....

until I can afford/find a $600 high-output alternator, will i have any problems just using a kinetic wired to my main battery?

should I use a stinger 200amp battery regulator??

and finally, does the secound battery need to be grounded to the frame or back to the main battery??

thanks

stock piling parts as we speak....

Looks like you will be running well over 1400w. I am in the same boat as you with my 1000/1 and 300/4. I am going to test out the waters and just try a Kinetik 2400. Xplorerdonon22's has a few of them brand new for $250. I think I am going to take him up on that offer.

thanks so far, now another question arises:

I will have a bout 1400 W RMS, if/when I use a kinetic, which one should I choose, there site recommends the 1400 but thats huge and heavy, can i get away with either the 800 or 600?

I may go with the 1400 to be safe, but my stuff is adding up in weight fast!!!!

did some more reading, and looks like the 1400 is the way to go....

I might make a custom battery box, with covered removable plexi glass top for bling..., in the rear seat area ( where rear wheel drive cars had the hump), to keep the weight low, and centered in the car....

if you go smaller chances are it wont do you much good as far as capacity plus if it get discharged too fast then recharges too fast things tend to vent...seen that with ALL types and brands of batteries. some will swell some will look like someone put alkaseltzers under the posts others vent lids "pop" off
