Hi there... sorry i didnt use the search feature extensively... any help wud be appreciated...

I have new front door speakers 6 1/2 but while installing em on my driver side, speakers r not working....... for some reason now the original stock car speakers r also not working.... so i m guessing there must be a short in the wire... how can i trace that....

its a 2000 galant

my passengerside works perfectly fine... and its not the new speakers or settings in the HU coz been there done that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

to trace it... you need to... trace it... pull out the radio and make sure the wires are connected securely... as in soldered/heatshrinked or taped together... or connected with butt connectors... check in the door and make sure that the wires are not grounded out *touching metal*

Thank u .. will doo sir...

also if i run new wires for some reason.... wat kinda wires wud i need.. sorry really new to this......

ohhh one other question... if there was grounding can it cause static in yr speakers... coz that was the reason y i changed the stock ones.....it was causing a lot of static on both front speakers....

Thanks in advance.....

if you run new wires 14-16 gauge speaker wire will be fine... and run it through the rubber door grommets into the car... don't go outside the door and acround the door jams like i see people do around here all the time

OK i have to run a new wire... coz i cant seem to find the problem otherwise... now the question is

How do i run the wire thru the door rubber knob where all the other wires r passing.... its soo tite.... did y'all make a cut or something? let me know... otherwise i mite go Ghetto style n run it outside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Thanks....
