hi,I am a newbie.I have an alpine iDA-X303 car head unit with an Alpine head unit power pack (KTP-445.used very little.I never turn the volume up but I did this weelend to see how my IPOD sounds .When I turn the volume up past 1/2 way the radio shuts down totally then comes back on and it will continue this cycle untill the volume is lowered to 13 out of 20 level.Called alpine and they said to change the large yellow wire from ing. to battery direct.I did so but no change. It does this on FM also .I have infinity speakers front and rear (6032 cf) with a odb, +3db switch. What could be the fix.Thanks. Great forum my friends. jojoegen

How did you check the wiring? Did you use a DMM to measure resistance on each pair? Did you visually inspect connections at the speakers? How did you make connections? Solder, crimp, tape?

hi and thanx.I visually checked the connections and removed the radio and jiggled the wires to the radio..I don,t know how to use the multi meter for resistance, ohms etc..I know very little, only know continuity with the beeper and checking voltage in dc.All connections are tight with female blade ends and used continuity check for each wire .I made sure that the + and- corrisponded to the right connections at install. All the crimp on connections have shrink tube on them.I have the appropriate harrness from crutchfield when I bought the radio from them.

This is my thought as well. Would be a much better box volume if you could buy the 12" version of those subs.
