I am going to be installing my own system in my 2008 altima. i have boght everything but the sub box and wiring. I will be using the stock radio and i have a few questions.

1) can i have some out puts of the amp 2 ohm and some 4 ohm?

2) How do i make the sub 2 ohm with a single sub port

3) Is is ok to have more rms watts coming from the amp then the speaker is rated

4) do i need a compacitor

5) do i need the rca converters. from what i read it looks as if i can just wire rca cable directly to the factory stereo wiring.

6) what type of enclosure do i need. ( ported band pass sealed) and what size. I want to save as much trunk space as possible

7) what size speaker wires do i need

8) where is a good plce to mount the amp. i was thinking under the pasaaenger seat.

9) where can i get the color codes of the factory harness or where can i buy a reverse harness that is labeled

10) How would you wire this for the best sound.?

Here is what i have purchased.

u can but not a good idea

2) How do i make the sub 2 ohm with a single sub port

u wire the subs to 2 ohm has nothing to do with port

3) Is is ok to have more rms watts coming from the amp then the speaker is rated

yes just keep the gains lower ( u mean more than rms speaker power i assume not max speaker power

4) do i need a compacitor

no this is a band aid (search big 3 upgrade this will work better and buy a better battery

5) do i need the rca converters. from what i read it looks as if i can just wire rca cable directly to the factory stereo wiring.

yes u will need either a loc, a rockford 360.1, cleansweep etc (last 2 will sound better but cost more ur factory stereo does nto have rca out

6) what type of enclosure do i need. ( ported band pass sealed) and what size. I want to save as much trunk space as possible

depends on speakers ur running and what is recommended sealed will be ur best bet in most applications

7) what size speaker wires do i need

12 gauge- 14 gauge will do fine

8) where is a good plce to mount the amp. i was thinking under the pasaaenger seat.

if it will fit, and it does get very hot this is not the best location but will work

9) where can i get the color codes of the factory harness or where can i buy a reverse harness that is labeled

circuit city, best buy, ebay, etc

Amp Jackhammer 5 channel

hope this helps

response is under each question

oh yeah u can get a lot better equipment than what u got for the same or lil more hopefully u didnt buy that shit already
i payed $120 for all of the speakers and $150 for the amp brand new. I thought i got a pretty good deal. The local audio shop wanted $399 for the amp alone. I figured i would start out simple and then slowly upgrade. this is just a work car so i dont want to put alot into it. What equipment should i have gotten for this price. please enlighten me. If i can return all of this and get something better please enlighten me!

I was going to add a cpu fan since i read the 5 channel amps get hot really easy. I talked to MTX yesterday and they said it wouldnt be a problem, that these run cool but i figured just for safety sake. The main thing that concerns me is the watts are fine for the 6.5" speakers at 4 ohm's but the 6x9's need to be ran at 2 ohms and so does the sub. Would it hurt to run the 6.5" at 2 ohms or will they blow? My original plan was to run the 6.5" at 4 ohms and then the rest at 2 ohms but your answer 1 above changes that.

$120 including sub and 150 for the 5 channel amp all brand new

the only problem is, i am unsure if the kenwood warranty will hold considering the guy was going out of buisnuiss and i am unsure if he was an authorized dealer

line output converter it takes speaker output and turns it to rca out they are like 20 bucks at circuit city or best buy

they are a low budget option

best is cleansweep or rockford 360.1

the prob with using a loc to get ur rcas to amp is no manipulation of factory signal

most factory headunits cut bass at higher volumes so u dont damge their cheap paper speakers so the bass will sound real good with volume low and get weak when its up high

nvrmnd i was thinking u ordered from cruchfield //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

thats a good deal for a budget start up i would def upgrade tho

put a set of rsds 6.5 comps in front 87 shipped

and if u must have rear fill get 6x9 to 6.5 conversion plates and get a decent set for rear fill

so bridge the front 2 channel and bridge the back 2 channels. Now the sub is a 4 ohm to. what can i do about that or should i just live with it? Also couldnt i just bridge the 6x9's and leave the 6.5 as normal? Or would that be bad?

now the amp has changed. I had a very bad dealing with stompaudio.com. Anyway i ended up purchasing a Infinity 5761a which is a 6 channel and i think it will work out better than what i had.
