newbie here..need some help/advice

ok, i've got a 2002 ***** Am WS.6. right now i've got a 500.2 phoenix gold tantrum amp pushing a JL10w6 in a stealth box, everything else is the stock monsoon system right now. i'll be getting this head unit link

i'll also be getting a 200.2 PG Xenon amp to push the comps. i need to figure out what components to run up front, 6.5's. i'm leaning towards CDT, can get the EF series for $190, but i've never heard ANY set from CDT, although i have friends who rave about them and i've also read good things about them. there are so many **** choices, i cant even think straight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

any help/suggestions would be great.

oh yeah, and if it makes any difference as to what speakers...i pretty much listen to rock. but i would like a good, precise speaker that sounds good with everything

but cdt makes some pretty good stuff. i heard a pair of CL5X coaxes, not bad if i do say so myself.

just in general, some brands to look at are: Phoenix Gold, RE, Alpine, Focal, CDT, Boston Acoustics, JBL, Eclipse, and Infinity. There's lots to choose from. You might want to state your needs more specifically.

yeah..i'd kinda like to stay away from alpine/eclipse/infinity/jbl stuff, infinity is probably my favorite out of the bunch, but id like to go a different route than the more "typical" speakers. the best speakers ive ever personally heard were focal's but theyre big bucks. i had a set of PG comps in my truck and i was pretty disapointed in them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

er take it out of the list... IMO the infinitys have ZERO midbass (yea i heard them... its not all internet rumor) but the tweets arent as harsh as they are fabled to be

well i'm getting the ampt for 200 bucks. but wouldnt it easily power most of the comps mentioned in this thread?
