David Navone line out converter at 10 Volts

I bought a David Navone line out converter and the recommend leaving it at the factory preset which is 10 volts of output to the RCA's. This is higher than most headunits, so I'm wondering if I should lower it. My Xtant A4004 says it can support up to 17V balanced and 8V unbalanced. There's a switch to select inbetween those settings.

What is the advantage of running at 10V? A louder signal? Less distortion possibly getting into the signal?

The only advantage is lower floor noise because you'll have more potential. That's about it. It wont sound better or anything, just less floor noise.
