Newbie from Japan

I'm Jason, an American living in Japan, I've been here for 4 years, and will be here for another 4 or 5 years before I come back to the US to finish school.

I drive a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R. I love this car, and I will be keeping it for a very long time, it's coming back to the US with me, because when I leave Japan it will be completely legal to bring back due to being 25 years old. I can even get it shipped for free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . It's got a fairly mild tune right now, a little more boost, intake, full exhaust, and a tuned ECU, it's making probably 380-400hp right now. I'll be upgrading to around 550hp in the next year or so, which is still fairly mild for these cars.

Here's a picture:

I've never been real big into car audio, so this is really my first system. I know everything isn't the highest quality parts, but I didn't want to spend a ton of money as I need money for performance stuff too. So I know my equipment list won't please the true enthusiasts here, but after some short testing today, it really sounds good to me.

I've got a JVC AVX77 head unit, Diamond Audio D6 components in the front (will be upgrading later), Infinity 8" subwoofers in a fairly cheap box (didn't want to build my own), two Precision Power S580.4 amps, Optima battery in the trunk (relocated from the engine bay), and a Rockford Fosgate 1 farad capacitor. I'm not into big car rattling bass, so the 8's are perfect for me.

I didn't realize capacitors were not something that were really needed, I just went by what a friend recommended to me, but after reading on this site I see most people don't like them, but whatever, I got it already, and it's installed, so no big deal.

I'm in the middle of installing all of it right now. I'm doing it myself, and I'm not a pro, but I think I'm doing OK. Everything is sturdy, it's ugly right now, but tomorrow I'm building a black vinyl cover so all you will see is the subs, amps (sunk in flush), and capacitor. Still debating doing some kind of lighting, but I'm not into a lot of that crazy stuff, I just want clean and simple.

Still gonna clean up the wires a little more with some zip ties tomorrow, and then build the cover, should be done by tomorrow night.
