Newb with lots of questions and looking for advice on a quoted full system for me.

Just make sure that if your going to attempt to use the home audio woofers that there the correct ohms to match up to your amp. You want to stick with the either the single 2 or 4 ohm or the dual 2 or 4 ohm. Im not really fluent in home audio. I dont even know if they come dual voice coils? Also be sure to have the correct box made because having good equipement is one thing, but installtion is 1/2the battle when talking about proper sound. A well built box to spec can make some lower end stuff actually sound pretty good. I have a friend that used a home audio sub and built a incredible box tuned low and it shook the hell out of everything! Good luck

i don't run rear speakers and i love it just great especially considering the last setup had rears. just my $.02

If you want to get technical, he's pretty much correct. A stereo recording is not meant to be reproduced in a 4 channel full-range setup. Having a strong rear stage that competes with your front stage means you have basically no imaging/staging what so ever. Yes, some people like this techno nightclub style 'surround sound'... but THAT is the side of the debate that is based in opinion. The arguement for a front stage only (or utilizing weak rear fill) is based upon the acoustical properties of reproducing the recording accurately.

Lastly, if you 'need' rear fill to immerse yourself in sound, blame your improperly set up front stage, not the lack of a stong rear one.
