Impractical? Way to make sense buddy. This is a car audio enthusiast forum. How can, apparently an enthusiast, call something like this impractical? That is like a home theatre buff calling a 60" Plasma impractical b/c he already bought a 50".

How can you look at that sub and not see the word impractical? Im quite hopeful about the new XXX/MX, but even I have to admit that they are not practical speakers. Squeak's two words dexcribe one known problem with the driver, I have two more words: inductance and efficiency. Parthenon: possibly the baddest *** subwoofer on the planet.... but still impractical as all hell.

 
My deffintion of an impractical Subwoofer... One with a mounting depth near 2 feet, the cost of the subwoofer and the power needed to push it respectably, reaching in upwards of 1500 dollars. A suround that is more like a bicycle inertube than a speaker suround and needing a forklift to load it into the enclosure. Now I will admit that the New XXX will be a bad *** woofer, but when does one draw the LINE. a perfect example of this is the new RL-s...A hell of a HT sub but really not all that practical when it comes to puting one in a vehicle. I think that RE would of had alot more sucess just upgrading the older version, It was an outstanding Car audio sub, now basically what they have made is IMHO is there version of the MTX jackhammer.

 
im way way more interested in Ascendant and Mass Destruction's subs that are coming out.
seem much more promising to me, especailly the prices of Ascendant's.
I have to agree there, I too am very eager to see ascendant's new line up
