Looking to invest into a newer vehicle. i drive alot & long distances. an suggestions. Must be american & pretty well on gas, since its 3.09 a gallon. current car is a cavalier.

dont get a prelude...i just got one and it takes premium and ive yet to get over 270 miles in one tank....

on the other hand, it only took $25 to fill my saturn and that would get 280 miles a tank all day long. get a saturn, SOHC if you really want to sip gas.

Probably get a bone stock charger for around 20k and they get upwards of 25+ on the highway

jmac you forgot the Mazda 3 or 6. My dad get's a solid 24-28mpg in his mazda 6 and that's doing more city than highway.

edit: the fusion doesn't get what it's rated at. i drove one for 6 days as a rental car while my girls was getting her interior replaced(water damage due to an accident) and i averaged 23mpg doing about 70% highway.

the caliber is nice looking, dont know much about it. cobalt is a newer cavalier more or less. Yes i know any vehicle american or foriegn has ties to someone else thats the way now adays. wont get into anything just like i said my pref. i want dodge, chevy, ford...etc

the BK king idea is funny, but i think its abit scarey

I would check into what I just bought not to long ago. It gets around 24city and 32 highway. So it says anyway. I usually average around 280-330 miles on a tank full of gas. I have the 2006 Ford Focus ST package. You get some zip and a pretty nice style package compared to regular focus'. I would check into them. You can get them fully loaded for around 18'000.
