I gotta find a MBUS black front flip up for my ar to try out. Already got a rear (just given to me).

I have used the flip ups on my "duty" M4.

I work for a PMC for a few months out of the year in GA as an training instructor. I have (one one occasion) had a flip up BUIS break on me.....not good.

This is in a simulated combat situation....

If you are wanting to use your dot, IMO, just leave the rear on the large peep. I have no problems with sight acquisition using fixed BUIS.

Well....

I did use my custom Kimber .308 on a Fox Squirrel at about 395 yds one time.....

Swapped over the rear BUIS and optic from my converted Colt M4(converted to .22lr)

Was going to swap the stock but the .22cal M4 is a commercial platform and the target M4 is a military platform.

The commercial style is just a cunt hair smaller thread wise....

Well in all honesty, the MBUS were going to be my introductory set until I found a deal on Troys. My red dot is not the best but I'm comfortable enough with it just from shooting lots of ak's/ar's/bullpups/sub-compact rifles and comparing (though they weren't the best either). I REELY like the diamond flip ups they offer.
