New to car audio

I just recently bought a 1995 Cadillac DeVille in pretty darn good shape and I was looking to put a system in it myself. I took it to an audio place near me and they said for my car I would need basically a kit and some sort of converters - this was almost a month ago and I would like to know what exactly these pieces were so I could order them offline and get to work on the car soon.

Also would 2 15" subs be enough to have my Cadillac knocking? Because I'll be honest it's a big & heavy truck.

Crutchfield.com has an "Outfit My Car" feature that is very good at providing you with all the equipment that will fir your car. They are **** expensive but you can use them to get the list of what you need and then search eBay and other sites for good deals.
