new to car audio need help picking and amp for new 2012 alpine type r 1000rms

okay so i did more research and i found out my car has pretty thick wire running from the alternator to battery and also that its kind of pointless to do the the wire running from the alt to the batterry because the computer regulates the voltage or something like that ummm also that the chrysler 300 comes with 140 amp alternator already idk if that helps... also i was looking more at the hifonics amp and saw the brutus 1700.1 for about the same price as the alpine i wanted but think it might be to much idk your thoughts.. sorry for asking to much new to this
