how is this 4 channel?
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=PDX-4.150&lang=en&tab=F

how do i compare 4/3/2 channel amps? what do i look at? Why dosent everyone just buy a really good 4 channel amp so they have it all? and o how good is the company Rockford?
The PDX series is great. As far as comparing different amps, you mostly want to look at amps from reputable companies, and then look at how much power the amp puts out at what impedence. A lot of people on here don't run any rear speakers, so they only need a 2-channel for their fronts. A lot of people on here do run 4-channels.

A 4/3/2 channel is just a 4 channel. You can bridge each pair of channels to increase power to a certain speaker (bridge one set for a small subwoofer, or both sets to send more power to a pair of components.)

Rockford is a decent company. Wouldn't buy anything other than their power series amps though. And those only if you get a decent deal on them (RF stuff tends to be overpriced).

Can you or anybody else help me put together a balanced system like the same thing but instead with 2 10's? would that be better having 2 10's vs 1 12? id prefer having two subs if i can. If someone can put together a complete system that rounds up to about 1000 after shipping , thatd be greatly appreciated im trying to put some stuff togher right now myself.

One 12 ported will be as loud as two tens sealed. On that power, you're not going to be able to run more than one woofer unless it's something small. ANy reason for wanting two subs?

not really just feel like two would seem better than one. But yeah i think if i get a deck id prefer not using pioneer i dunno my friend have had some problems with their decks which are pioneer and its seemed to make me move away from pioneer. So for my system do have to have rear fills or do i just need components which im guessing are the front speakers?, If i was to go substage wut would be the best build in ur opinion hintzy?

If you want two subs, and just want to use that amp, try these:http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_21&products_id=30

No real point, but you want what you want. Pioneers are great decks. I had one in my truck for three years straight with no problems.

You could just do components up front and have no speakers running in the rear. Then you would need a mono amp and a two-channel amp.

If you want just a substage, I could suggest tons of stuff, but I highly recommentd upgrading your front stage as well.

Decide what you want to do, and I'll throw up a couple sample systems for you.

my friend says that i cant have rear fill because i only have 2 front speakers on the doors and 2 6X9's in the rear i have no speakers on the two rear doors.

what do you think the speakers in the rear deck are? I would stop listening to your friend. he has no idea what he's talking about.

Really to get you started would be a good head unit, a good set of components, sound deaden your front 2 doors, find out which sub you want, and buy the sufficent amps to power them. I would say dont worry about the rear for now, and dont worry about sound proofing your entire vehicle. Hitzy has made some very good suggestions.

I really don't think you'll be happy with such a high bass:mids/highs ratio. Your substage would COMPLETELY overwhelm and drown out your fronts. You need another amp if you want to upgrade your stock speakers, and upgrading the rears before the fronts is just plain dumb (most SQ guys on here don't even run rear fill). I do think that would be a great starter deck for yo though (especially with the free iPod controller).

I know you're probably sick of hearing this. But with your taste in music, I really think the first system I posted up would be the best way for you to start. If you up the budget some, I might be able to suggest some different options for select parts of the system. However, that would be a great system no matter how long you've been in the hobby. It's probably better than the systems than half the guys on this forum, and definitely better than about 99% of the systems we started with.

I guarantee you will be happy

Alright gotcha well can u put together a final system u think would be good like pricing and stuff? If you can i think id be down to take the two 10's so maybe like put one setup with the double and one with the single 12
