new system

Id go with two dual 4ohm subs and wire then down to 1 ohm. you will get the most power out the amp that way. nothing is wrong with stock speakers as long as you are happy with them. with that setup though you will quickly realize that you dont have enough power running the rest of your speakers and will definitely want to upgrade those with at least some stock replacements and a decent amplifier. if you want to keep it all hifonics the zeus series are nice 4 channel amps.

I found a hifonics bx1500d for almost the same price as the bx1000d is there a way i can set it up so that it does not supply to much power to my subs? I would rather get the bx1500d incase i want to upgrade but i dont want it to destroy my subs.

yes, just turn down the volume....ha ha.

no you can adjust your amps gains, bass boost, etc. so that you dont overpower them. go for the 1500 you wont be disappointed. its not too much power. its never too much!

Well if you go with the 1500 i would just buy the dual 2 ohm speakers so you can wire them to your amp at 2 ohms. This way you wouldn't have to mess with turning gains down and bass boost because the 1500 runs 1000 watts at 2 ohms. If you ever wanted to upgrade, you simply would just get a speaker that runs at 1 ohm so you would get the full 1500 out of that amp.

good call i totally forgot that he could have just changed the load. d'oh! no reason to upgrade for power matching reasons - to get the full 1500. Upgrading to better subs, well thats another game. just wire them into 1 ohm (both coils of each sub wired parallel - subs themselves wired parallel). those subs can handle the 750 each.
