How to tune an Epicentre?

I just got my epicentre, and dropped it into the hookup, but havent had time to sit down and try figure out how to tune it. How am I supposed to go about setting the "wide" and "sweep" settings on it?

I checked out the site, and they do have an online manual, which gives some good info on the product. But like it doesnt actually say how I should go ahead setting the wide and sweap options...Just basically says what they are for
