PURDUE!!!!
My new system is nearing completion, and i can't wait to see how it does. I have a 15" XXX sitting in a ported box in the back of my Toyota Truck right now. The box is unbeleivably huge, being 6 cuft after displacement of the sub, port, and internal bracing. Basically, with everything included the box takes up about 8 cuft worth of space. I am soon going to buy a friend's PPI PCX-2350 amp and send 1600 watts to it at 4 ohm. This should be impressing and i can't wait to see how it does.

Did i mention that the sub is sitting about 3" from my head?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What do you guys think?

yeah more power to ya. if you compete good luck though pro. 1600rms at 4ohm will put you in an insane power class especially running modified pro. let us know how it goes though man. i only assume it would be mod. b/c you put it in a truck i know you had to alter something on the inside.

adam

nah didn't alter a thing actually. My truck was a king cab and it fit right into that back. The guy that built the box for me did an excellent job, the box doesn't even go above the windows or anything. I will get some pictures on here as soon as i can. All i can say is that it is gonna beat like hell.

By the way, i don't think i am goin to go deaf, i think my head is gonna explode...

Also, does the fact that it will be 1600 watts at 4 ohm make a difference? I didn't think that it mattered whether it was 1600 watts at 4 ohm or at 1 ohm...

dif. is how they look at an amp in a comp. in a comp they rate you at 4ohm and put you into a power class. so your amp that does 1600@4ohm will put you in the highest class there is at any comp. anyway that's the dif.

The thing about this PPI amp is that it runs the same at 1 ohm than it does at 4 ohm, at least i am pretty sure of that.

not trying to be a smart *** but how can the sub be 3 " from your head when the box doesnt even go up to the window, seems impossible unless your 2 feet tall

Well, it is probably more like 6 inches... But the box is built right up to the window line. In my truck, my headrest is about 9 inches above the box, and when i lean my seat back so that it is touching the box, it is almost right over the sub and about 6 inches above it. I will put pictures on here as soon as i finish it so i can better explain it...

when you go to check in at the lanes they say what is your rms power at 4ohm?? you say 1600 watts they say your in the 1000+class, 600+ class whatever it is at that comp. how is the box 9" without doing anything to your seats that is what i don't get??? i mean i would think you couldn't fit an 8cuft box in a truck without taking the seat out or a cut through??
