New System

I am just looking for some possible suggestions on some subs and amps that i would like to put in. As of right now I have a Alpine 9855 with four DB Platinum door speakers. I was thinking anywhere from 2 or 3 12" or 2 15". I have around three to five grand to spend on all of this. And my vehicle as it says in my sn is a 2002 tahoe. My music intrests is mainly rap. Let the suggestions begin.
Pair of 15's in 13 net cubic feet enclosure with 250 square inch vent, 18" long. That is a guaranteed pavement buster. Anything less would be a mockery of your intelligence and ability to spend money wisely. That box is the first thing. Second is the subs that can handle an enclosure that efficient...... My recommendation is a pair of AudioQue HD3-15's or some Digital Designs 3515's or 9515's and a Z1 or even a Z2 amplifier. The Z2 leaves the ability to do a charging/battery system for the amplifier that is 16-18V and get some serious power from a single amp. Batteries are the next point of relevance. You have to have power on-tap to supply a big amp like either one listed above. Maybe a Batcap 8400 12V version for the Z1, 16V version for the Z2. If you get the 16V setup, you'll need to get a step up charger that'll charge the battery above the voltage of the alternator.

The box should only require about $100.00 worth of materials or less if you do it yourself and hopefully have a brad nailer. If you have a talented builder do it for you, you may be looking at $400-800.00. It will definitely be done right though if you pick the right man. Big wiring to compliment a Big 3 upgrade, 0ga or even double run of 0ga. A second factory alternator on a fabricated bracket with lengthened serpentine belt is next. The subs run from $340ish to about $600 each. The battery, is about $1500.00 in most places. It's expensive because it's pissed off. The Z1 is about $1400.00 and the Z2 is roughly a grand higher. The second alternator should only be $100-150.00. The brackets and labor and belt about another $100-200.00. The wire and wiring should be about $200-250ish. If you get REAL 0ga, nice distribution terminals and good fuse/breaker setup. An upgraded front battery won't hurt either. A 1000amp killer battery can be had at SAM's Club in the tire section. It's only $99.00. Add all that together and you see that it does not really cost all that much to have a completely retarded ticket generating machine.

As of right now with everyones suggestions I am looking at 2 12" alpine x type, 2 15 Kicker L7, or 2 12" pioneer premier. From those three what would you pick? And what amp(s) would you choose to use with your pick?
IMO I would go with the L7s. Run maybe 1200-1300 rms to them and let em rip.

With 2 ppl saying the L7's I am curious why you are choosing this sub over the X and Premiers. Both of wich have higher rms and peaks than the L7. Also would the Audiobahn Immortal be better than the other three I have throw out their?
