OK i'm new to car audio, i dont know very much and i want to install it all myself. So i'd appreciate any help that i can get from you guys!

This is what i'm getting:

JVC KD-LH3100 head unit

2 Alpine Type-R 12s

US Acoustics 1000d amp

Infinity Speakers (forget the model number, but they're cheap ones)

I have no idea where to start or where to get information on how to install these things, i dont want to **** anything up after i spend all this money on it.

I'm just gunna run the speakers off the deck for now, so i need to know how to install a deck and speakers.

What is the best way to hook up the Type-Rs? I dont know what everything means like parellel?! 1 ohm, 2 ohm, 4 ohm. Just tell me the best way to hook them up, so i can get their full performance.

And i mostly listen to rap, but i also listen to some techno. So the best box for me would be sealed right?

Hope you guys can help me, we're all noobs at one time lol I'll learn when i install all this stuff.

Get the system professionally installed, and learn from there. Thats alot of equipment to be screwing around with.

Basically, you need a wire harness adapter so you dont need to cut your car's factory radio harness off, a mounting kit that will mount the radio into the car.

You need to run your amp wiring from the battery back (power) and then your remote turn on and rca's from the deck, all to where you're gonna mount your amp.

In order to wire the subs properly, you need to find out if they are dual voice coils, and if they are dual 2 ohm, or dual 4 ohm.

Ported works well for my 2 12" alpine R's.

Hope that helps a bit

How would i learn anything if i just got somebody else to do it tho? Wouldnt i be able to do it myself, theres got to be a ton of guides on how to wire a system on the internet. I dont want to mess anything up, but if i just followed peoples instructions carefully, i'm sure i could do it or atleast part of it. I mean i'm not rich, i spent enough on the parts already, I dont want to pay for something that i could do myself. And i want to learn about car audio

Also i heard that when you listen to rap sealed boxes are the way to go, ported is better for rock. No?

Not that hard just time consuming, you must be patient. There are guides on the internet, I dont know of any off the top of my head, someone should chime in.

You have the boxes backwards. Ported for rap( SPL) Sealed for rock( SQ)

I definately vote for you doing it yourself, especially if you want to learn about car audio. As mentioned, it can be a little time consuming but the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself makes up for it IMO. There are tons of tutorials that can help you with whatever you need to know and if you don't find what you're looking for in those, search the forums then ask a question if you need to. We're here to help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

x2

If you don't do it yourself, how are you really gonna learn? If you screw up, you will learn from your mistakes, I know I have.
