I would like to know your opinions on the items im picking, and what you think I should get. what i'm trying to get is quality, but also a decent amount of power, it's a small car. so this should all be more than enough.

I really like the 4 channel kenwood amp, looks really flashy lol, good access to controls and i guess it comes with some extra bells and whisles. puts out 150rms at 2ohm's

I was gonna get the infinity kappa's but when i listened to em they sounded to tingy to me, really bright highs, I would think jbl would have some better mid range that wouldn't be so easily overpowered by the highs. anyone got any other thoughts on that and the other parts I've selected? also probably gonna build my own box.

as far as the box, i've been told tuning it to 28herz and building a solid unported seal box is best for the responsiveness of metal and rock.

i listen to alota indie, rock, emo, punk, metal, sometimes popy stuff when bored, I like my system to have alota veration built into it so i can listen to what ever im in the mood for.

id say go with the second list of items. the jl sub will have good sq and will do pretty well with different types of music. jbl makes good products as well so im sure the mids and highs would do great.

I wouldn't waste money on rear speakers. Kenwood amps dont have a very good reputation, but the kenwood excelon series do. So i would find a new mono amp and stick with that x4r.
I'm using these components and have been very happy with them, as have many members on this board (search): http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17121_Precision+Power+PPI+356CS.html

This sub is a little more but probably worth it

those rear spakers aren't accualy what i was gonna get, I'm building some boxes for my back seat and framing them for 6x9 speakers so i can get some nice speakers in their //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif i was thinking of also puting componates in the back and the teeeters up in the corner pannels if they'd fit or down in the door mayb just for some highs in the rear to give some suround sound to the car.

I'm not sure about leavng 2ohm's thought, i like the fact that i'll hav 150 watts at each speaker, otherwise I'll end up getting only 25 more watts per speakers than what ive been getitng, granted im sure it's more like only 50-60 rms in true rms, I doubt its rated at what it puts out, it wasn't that expensive of an amp.

edit -

was looking at some other amps id consider, im liking the looks of this jbl mono amp.

I found the perfect amp to go with that 4 chnel amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

both of the same series, and it's rated at 1200, but will most likly only throw 900sh-800, whitch is accualy more in the range i was looking for, whitch means it should hit hard when i want it to and still be able to easily run at the wattage i want it.

I am also curious about decks, what deck would you guys recommend? what is this double DIM stuff, what does that mean. also, think it would be worth putting anything else in the loop to process the music and provide better sound quality? I was looking at those "bass boosters" on sonic, what exactly would one of those do. i want a deck that'll have a good equalizer and provide good bass wattage, and if posible I'd like it to have bluetooth. I have my car wired for a small pioneer deck already, with rca's and everything ran for a 2 amp system. I'm also thinking of throwing a second battery into the car and upgrading my alternator to keep up with everything.

the problem with the deck is it was hardwired, i couldn't buy any kits for it, so it's all hardwired into the wire harness that went to the origonal deck, so fi i could use that same plug I'd love that, it hink a couple brands use the same type of plug.

I was looking into the new battery could i just mount it in the trunk right where the split is in front of the amp's in the circuit, maybe a smaller battery, like

skbt80.jpg

could I run this battery alone to be able to power this? or could i run it in parallel with my existing battery? if i ran them in parallel I'd have to put an isolator in between them so that it wouldn't drain the power form the good battery into the old shitty battery? I'd like to avoid 2 battery's, so if that one alone with maybe a new more powerful alternator :-\

Please please please do some searching on here. You will save a ton of money and get a better product.
x2

you need to slow down a bit and do some reading before you drop a bunch of money on stuff just because you like the way it looks.

STAY AWAY FROM KENWOOD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and for components id go with phoenix gold rsd. if youre looking more sq for a sub get imagine dynamics and for 300$ amp you can get something alot better like an audioque amp. id look around some more, read more on here and youll be better off.

I'm not just madly picking parts, ive been looking at parts for 3 weeks. but Ive decided to run a new cable and put in new battery and alternator to keep. and i'm not doing that just for shits and giggles, my car needs a new battery and my alternator is on it's way out. it's output can bearly keep up with just my 4 channel amp right now. even with those upgrades, I still like those amps, i think i'm gonna stick with them, they have good reveiews and it's from the high end series, so i'm sure it'll be fine. I've looked into those other brands but meh. I'd like to know more about other options to put in the circuit to improve things, like one of those little bass boosters, or

so I think that batteyr i chose should be good enough with a new alternator after looking at it's spec's it should be able to keep up with those amps easily as long as the alternator keeps up.

I don't think im gonna run it with my current battery that'll just be unneeded.

nobodys said anything about running componate speakers in the back and putting tweeters in the corner pannels\ or the door in the back seat, think it's a good idea? also, what is a good head unit I should get that'll do what I want it to do?
