New system ,no sub response, please help!

I get no ac volts on output.

Have you tried a dmm on the sub outs of the hu's? I believe they are 4v (ac) for that model. You could also run the dmm on the amp output (speaker) to see if you're getting voltage out.

What kind of voltage should I get at amp speaker output? I have my dmm set at a/c or d/c and get nothing?

Still messing with it! I tried both HU again and nothing? Read instructions for the 50TH time,There's SW#1,it turns it on or off, SW#2,it adjusts hertz,and gain from -125 to +6,pretty sure I have it right,I do get a small thump from SW,when I unplug and reinsert remote gain control,that unit is just a knob that turns and push's in for locking I imagine,the light is on on that unit. no error lights at amp.

With 3/4 full volume you should be getting an ac voltage reading at your sub (speaker) out, even with the gain all the way down. To rule out the Hu sub out, try running the rca's (sub) to a different amp (at low volume) and see if you get anything. One thing you should never do with Pioneer hu's is plug and unplug rca's while the deck is on. You'll blow the pico fuse and end up getting what sounds like motor noise through your mids and highs. You said that hooking up an ipod directly works?

I would turn up the low pass crossover (on the amp) to 100Hz though.

First, know that I have limited experience. But I can't help but think it's a HU setting that's not allowing any output, or possibly bad outputs on both HUs. That does seem unlikely, but obviously possible. You've already eliminated subs, amp and wiring as possible causes, right? I'm not sure the best way to explain this, but have you tried adjusting all the filters and settings on the HU to allow the maximum range of frequencies to get to your sub amp? Also, did you try the DMM on the HU outputs?

Talked to the Geek squad installer,he told me my unit has a hidden sub menu only accessible when unit is in off mode! will try that.

Getting closer! have to shut unit off and hold control in and initial settings menu pop up,select audio,sub and now getting response! have to fine tune it all now,dang what a hassle right? lol
