New system help

My budget is like $900 and i need a new system.

Here's what i was thinking about

Speakers: Phoenix Gold rsd65cs - $80ish

Amp for speakers: Alpine PDX2.150 - $215ish

Sub: Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D - $120ish (What's the difference between 2ohm and 4?)

Amp for sub: Alpine MRP M500 - $150ish

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-3200UB - $140ish

Total: $705

Also should I get a sealed or ported box? What other stuff will I need? I believe a harness kit and wiring kit?

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Anyway, to answer your question about the sub; The 2 ohm dvc model can be wired to 1 ohm, which will allow you to get more power from your amplfier. However, the amplifier has to be 1 ohm stable, and the Alpine model you're thinking of buying isn't.

Recommending an enclosure type depends heavily on what you want your music to sound like. Sealed enclosures are generally more accurate while ported boxes are often louder (that's the short answer). Also, some subwoofers are designed to perform better in sealed enclosures, whereas others are best suited for ported applications.

You'll want to purchase a distribution block if you plan to run two amplifiers. This isn't essential, but it's nice.

As far as what I think, I'll say the same thing I said earlier. You can do better, home slice...

Are you willing to let go of alpine? That'll get ya farther to begin with. I'm still in the learning process myself but maybe if you ask misfit nicely what he would buy with 900 dollars, he'd be more inclined to help you. I know I'm usually more willing to help someone who gives a budget, and maybe a headunit or something(if they already have it). I'm less likely to help if they have a list of what they want already because 95 percent of the time, I give them a totally different system and next thing I know...."Hey, I went to best buy and had (everything they considered beforehand) installed for (insert absurd number here) dollars". and I don't like that

Umm sorry i had a list of things i was planning on getting? I asked for help for a reason. And i gave the list for a reason. This way you can say whats better, whats not, what i should get and what i shouldnt. And yeah im definitely getting all this from best buy...

only you can say what speakers you like after listening to as many as you can. your budget is too low for most of us to have any real opinion. at those low prices everything is mediocre. it all depends on your own personal expectations.

Sorry for explaining the 2 ohm dvc sub, the difference between sealed & ported boxes, recommending a distribution block and telling you that you can get better equipment with your money.

I guess there's no point in knowing any of that stuff.
