this is the only 2 possible ways to wire it. you need the 1 ohm method or you may as well just use 1 sub at 2 ohms.

 
and there is no such thing as a hpf on a monoblock hifonics brutus amp. that amp has enough juice to fry those subs so just recheck all of it.
um, isn't that basically what the subsonic filter is? Acts like a HPF and blocks the frequencies lower than what is selected? I know there will be some roll-off, but it is what it is.

 
Pulled the subs out, as I expected the pos and neg was mixed up. He used blue for pos and silver for neg on one sub, blue for neg silver for pos on the other sub. Re-wired it for him parallel/parallel to 1ohm. Much, much, much better.

I think one 12 would have been plenty in a single cab, my own opinion I guess though.
