New System for Honda Passport

My buddy wants to get a decent system in his car. Its a 97' honda passport and is all stock right now. Searchin for a nice used deck but need to get sub(s), amp and speakers. Got about $400-500 to spend, not includin wires, rcas, wood etc.

I'm thinkin a nice pair of used type R's but am stuck on what is a decent amp for em or what kind of speakers to get. I think it takes 4" in the front (not worried about rear fill).

your gonna want to look into db drive's db speakers, pretty good for the price

i just got done putting 2 10 inch sony xplod subs in my friends sisters passport sounded pritty good for a walmart system.

Are there good 4" speakers? Or should I just make some adapters to fit gome 6.5"s? I think I am going to go with (1) 15" Type R off around 800 watts. He isnt going to be running a strong electrical, just keeping it stock.

you can put adapters in the front, but the speakers will interfere with the dash.
