New system design for a monte carlo. 18in

Well after my last design with a 15" soundstream and with the help of you guys I'm going to go for an 18" sub. It'll be going in the back of a 95 monte carl. The box will be sealed. My thought's on it will be build a flat box and inverting the sub towards the rear of the trunk. Meaning it'll be long and wide but but not deep because It won't fit with a standard box design. I hope what I wrote here is you guys understand. From top to bottom will be about five inches wide but the leangth and the width will make up the airspace. Get me? Great. SO will it work correctly?
