New L7 vs. Old L7

anyone ever compared the new 04 L7 to the older L7? not the really old black L7, the silver 2003 L7.

i think they have the same recomended box specs, so i wonder is the 03 L7 10" or the 04 L7 10" would be louder with the same power (600 watts, both sub's RMS). same car same day same everything else. the new L7 is supposed to have a wider surround radius, so wouldnt that take a little away from displacement? what about linear stroke, does anyone know if they have equal excursion capabilities? or does it go to the 04?

I've heard stories about the new 04's blowing "less" than the older ones and that their build "stronger". That's all that I know of...

The newer ones are almost 100% new...alot of the motor comes from the Solo X, and the new cone and new designed back brace help cone flex even more.

If someone is blowing them, they are just still overpowering them and buring up the VC...

L5's got a new facelift in 2005 as well...and some of the L7 features.

polecat, have you seen the new L7 10"s put to the test? im wondering how there power handling is. im thinking about putting a 2 pa2500d's on two l7 10"s (just for burps)
