New job ideas?

ya, while your in , 100% tuition ....

once you get out, you still have 40k up to 10 years i think it is... and the amount of money you get rises each year to match inflation,

since i already have my associates, basic training + tech school will put me within 10 credits of my bachelors (considering i goto tech school for avionics)

then once i get out i have the 40k to either go for my masters or take a simple pe course @ a local community college and get a free 1k each month for a car payment or whatever i want

Actually the 100% tuitions is a crock. Its 100% up to $4,500 per fiscal year. So basicly they give you $4,500 a year for college, with a max of $250 per credit hour. Your pay $100 a month for your first year in the service to qualify for the MGI Bill. This is what pays that roughly 40k. After you discharge from the service you have 10 years to use this. Also the USAF pays for you to get a ONE TIME certification worth up to 9k. 3 1/2 years left for me. Anyone have any ideas what I should use mine on???

I am a civie so its only like $3k for me...

However, I get paid salary while training so it's worth ut.

Wow, your priorities are *** back wards! I mean I see you having a goal of putting more audio equipment in your car, like it isnt enough looking at your one thread in the general discussion, but maybe put some money in savings for schooling, unless you want to take out grants or are luck to get a full ride. Or maybe, just maybe save your money to get a place of your own unless you like living with your rents. If it was me, I would save/invest and find a place of my own being I like freedom. Then again if my parents bought my vechichle I am sure they dont care much about what you do. I always blame the parents for todays society, lol!

Well living at home isnt bad... All my friends live here and what not.

I also dont have to worry about paying for college, because I got 100% scolarship... And a few grants. So i actually get paid to go to college... At any local community college or any 4 year University in the State... So yeah.

Im going to Sams Club tomorrow.

you could go work at a carwash, you can make good tips, or you can get in sales like me, I make $8.50 per hour plus commission, and average $700-800 a month in bonus by just selling car washes. Great way to get through school for now.

you also come to the right forum cause we have a lot of high rollers here, that make $18/hr delivering pizzas so i'm sure they can assist you.
I dunno about the high rolling part, but I deliver pizzas myself and make between 12-20$ an hour. Plus, you get to listen to your stereo all night instead of dealing with dickhole bosses/managers for 6 hours. What a deal.

You know in Texas you get the Hazelwood Act when all 36 months of your GI Bill are used up. That is only for former active duty though. Also, they just bumped the GI Bill from $1034/month to $1075/month.

Are you active or reserve? Based out of Ft. Hood? What branch?

edit: To clarify, if your state of enlistment is Texas, you qualify for Hazelwood. I think they have it in Illinois and Georgia(not 100% on this one) as well.

you are including tips. this one high roller was making $18/hr plus tips.

try working for the state. i'm in the process of trying to get a job for the state of michigan. they have good pay, excellent benifits, paid holidays, and the best part is they'll pay a lot for your schooling if you want to move up.

also idk why you are set on walmart. you're just leaving one crappy near minimum wage job for another. what's the point? walmart does not pay employees well. before michigan bumped up the minimum wage, walmart was starting at $5.50 an hour and kmart was starting at $6.45 an hour. they make you watch anti-union videos when you hire in, and they have terrible ethics. idk why anybody would aspire to work there
