Hey there I'm new to this forum and I'm just starting to get into this whole scene of car audio. The vehicle is a 2007 Dodge Ram (1500). So this weekend I attempted to install my first system. It consists of a Alpine CDA-9883 (Head Unit), Zapco 500 watt 4 channel amp (I-450) Alpine SPR-17C front speakers and Alpine SPR-13S rear once. I have 2 problems now. 1. The system will work perfectly until the truck is started at which point the sound distorts even at low volumes and the volume also degrease a little bit. This one really got me scratching my head i tried different ground points and i would eliminate that is a possible cause.(The amp is grounded to the flour panel under the seat, and the head unit is grounded to a a section of the frame behind the dash). I measured the voltage that the amp receives and it is 12.62 volts when the truck is not on and 14.98 volts when the truck is running could that be causing problems. The power and ground cable is 4 gauge. My second problem is that the front speakers will function wonderfully (with the truck turn of of curse) but once i connect the rear speakers the amp will shut of. The speakers don't seem to have a short in them the both measure somewhere around 3,6 oms.
Sorry for the long post, any help is appreciated.
