Hello!
I just finished my first installation and am troubleshooting electrical problems. I am using a Pioneer DM-G8704 amplifier, only 2 channels at 2 ohms- 150w Max rms per channel(the speakers are rated to 90w rms), and the gain cut back to less than half. I also have a Rockville self-powered 8” sub- 150w rms. I used the recommended 8 gauge wiring for the amp, and the 10 that was included with the sub. I have tried a couple different ground points but still have issues. I tried the bolt that secures the seat rail first, then the ebrake brace, and ended up tapping a new hole for a 1/4” bolt. The paint was sanded where I secured the wires. Here’s how it looks right now
The power and ground wires were not trimmed down in case I wanted to relocate them- so I’ve got about 17 feet each of power wire and 3 feet each of ground. Those could be cut down quite a bit if needed. Here is how everything sounds right now-
Any ideas of what to try next?
