never had a alpine HU so I wouldn't be able to give you advice. I can give you some about pioneer if you planning to lean towards there.

yea i am kinda leanin toward the alpine. are the 9887 and 9886 bout the same,, im really only lookin for one that plays mp3's , and is i-pod ready,, and has aux. inputs.. dont really need anything else.
