I have an amp. Old school Kenwood BASIC M2A 230x2 @ 8 320x2 @4 .002%THD

Dual mono block. Might only use 1 side since the other is acting squirrelly.

I'll get a pic up soon of the living space. I don't have room for a huge @ss sub enclosure.

I'm thinking of 4 8" drivers behind the TV stand or maybe a powered setup across the fireplace, running the signal cable under the carpet or an unpowered unit with speaker wires under the carpet.

i've considered MAW12 or 15, 4 8" assassins, Dayton Quatro 12. I have a DD9512 to use, but it's dual .7 and the two eclipse 10's in my F/S thread http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204941 2 10" dual 4's.

Sealed for size, but with an interesting design would port in the low 20's.

Your post is weird. You don't want a big subwoofer but you will consider a ported design. Most ported designs can be big, but if you keep tuning > 20hz the box size is reasonable

but probably in the 5 - 6 cu. ft. minimum range.

You want a non-powered subwoofer? What does this mean ? A subwoofer

that operates with no power? lol

If you want to make a non-active subwoofer, powered by your mains amp,

this isn't a worthy investment.

I have a DD9512 to use, but it's dual .7

Post T/S parameters.

Someone paid $255 for that amp.

If you can sell yours for $250, then buy a buttkicker BKA1000 for $250 {maybe less}

and that would make a nice HT sub amp. Jury is still out on it's 2 ohm

performance vs. advertised.

is this for music in a room, or acctual movies?

thatll have alot to do with tuning and box size

what im doing is putting a band pass box on the floor in my closet, so ill have 22 x 22 x 14, and can put stuff on it

i sold all my stuff and am starting over small. I may just pick up the dayton powered 12 on sale on PE for now. After putting an HD newscast on the air, i'm tired.

i have 4 ed 9kv.2's just sitting around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

i cant remember what vc they are but i had all 4 wired to 4 ohms.

what a total brain meltdown today. I ordered a Dayton Quattro 12" and will build sealed enclosure to start with for it.

Might take the advice and sell the amp that's been sitting idle for a couple of years.

fokker out.

I would highly recommend something along the lines of 4 Mach5 18s in a sealed box powered by a Behringer EP2500, it would fit in a small box and would be able to extend into the teens with authority:D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

A behringer DEQ2496 would be a nice addition for equalization purposes

when you say small box how small are you talking about?

smaller than his couch?

i have a hard time seeing 4 18's in anything less than 8 or so cu-ft

and i dont think there is room in his living room for a monster like that.

6.951 cubic feet for a Qtc of .702:D

a box thats ~20" wide, 40" tall, and 20" deep would satisfy the space requirement, thats not unreasonable. You'd mount 2 18s on the front and rear or 1 18 on each side to reduce non-linear distortion and vibration, you could substitute it as an end table or cover it in leather and it can be an ottoman:D

wife SO wouldn't go for that. Quattro is on it's way.

For that size, I've got a Decware WickedOne in the garage. I could do a housewrecker if I wanted an all out bass beast.

Thx for the info.

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
