New Hifonics Amps

hey guys.. im sure most of you know that hifonics has a new set of amps in their brutus series.

supposedly these new amps were supposed to be much less overrated than the last series. for example, the bx1500d from before now became the bx1205d, rated at 1200 watts (which was much more liek that the old bx1500d was putting out)

i was wondering if any of you use this series of amps or if youve know of any bench tests or anything. i have the 1205d and im pretty concerned about output since im in the market for subs.

anybody know anythign about this subject? id really liek to hear that im actually getting 1200 watts and not liek 1000 or 900. if thats the case ill sell and have to buy something else most liekly.

The difference between 1000 watts and 1200 watts will not be noticeable. In other words, you wont hear it.

But sorry, havent seen any bench tests on the new series.

i believe the titan series replaced the brutus?

and the power ratings were not switched, just the name and color.

if you are worried about 200 less watts, then buy a model up. simple as that.

a bx1205d can be had for 200ish, while the bx1500d is sold for 220. 20$ wont kill you.

Hmmm....Many people run Hifonics amps, good amps on a budget, if you get a warranty. $220 for 1200 real watts, with a warranty, is definitely "worth it".

Not everyone needs the amount of power provided by the XX line.

You wouldnt be recommending that simply because its what you have in your sig? (Which, of course, you dont really have...sort of like the SX/Orion 2500 combo you had in there before.)

Ive seen the XX Hercules's run... and they will put out rms + more. Im just giving my opinion of what i think of them, if you want to bash go ahead....have fun.

I love people who only recomend the latest fad. Rather than speak from personal experience And Lying on the web = normal. All the kids on here do it.

Having owned a bx1500d, I still think it worth purchasing. Even if it only put out about 1200-1300 watts. For 200 bucks it is a great budget amp.

Do I belive putting out a bit more money say 50 bucks is worth it to get a better amp? Yes. But if you are on a budget the hifonics fits into, go for it.

And If you can get the new line for the same amount do that also. Why buy outdated equipment. Get the new gear

You're only getting a warranty if you buy from 'An Authorized Dealer' - of which oddly enough there are none listed @ maxxsonics.com.

Thta may be true for a warranty through Maxxsonics. But most sellers on ebay will give their own warranty....

I bought my Soundstream from an ebay company who carried a one year warranty. They sent my soundstream amp to SS 6 months ago.

So don't even think that warranty means chit!

that would ****.. but oh well if thats the case.... im selling it anyways.. and will probably go for the 1605d.. unless you guys know of somethin for 250 shipped that will give me 14-1500 watts and will hold up or run better than the hifonics

I have the hofonics bx1000d amp, and although I have not used it to itz full potential yet (ran at 2 ohms, not 1 yet), in about 2 weeks I will. Anyways, as far as I can tell, it is a good amp, especially for the price. It is for sure over rated, but like they say, 200 watts or so is not gonna make much of a difference in dB. another thing I like is the blue lighted Hifonics logo on the amp, and the blue lighted maxsonics logo on the side, but im a blue lover so anything blue i like. For a budget, like others have said, a very good amp, but go with a next step if u want 1200 rms. When RE comes out with their new 12.1 amp, im getting one of those, for I am no longer on such a small budget, but the hifonics gets me by just fine.
