Hey, I'm new to this forum and I thought I'd start out by showing what I got and seeing what everyone thinks. Car audio has been my hobby for about a year and a half now and I have a a lot of fun picking out things and doing my own installs. I've got a Chevy Malibu 2001 V6 3.1ltr with...

- Two 12" Alpine Type-Rs running with 1000w RMS @ 4ohm.

- Dual 12" Q-Logic Box sealed at .85CuFt [self customized for alpines airspace recommendation].

- Alphasonik Amp 1000-2060 RMS.

- Tsunami Capacitor 1.2 Farad.

- Profile Amp 4-Channel 80w RMS x 4.

- JL Speakers VR-Series 6x9s in the back.

- Alpine Speakers Type-S 4x6s w/ Bass Blockers in the front.

- Pioneer Head Unit New 08 Model.

- Sirius Radio Interface for the Pioneer.

ya the alpine sps-406 speakers are really nice and definately scream, but they are nothing compared to the JLs I got in the back. those are just ridiculous.

agreed lose the bass blockers if you have an amp theres no reason in bass blockers they do nothing

you have the space for it, build or have someone on here build you a 4 cube ported box tuned at 30-35 hz and youll be SLAMMIN. And rewire them to 1 ohm on that amp, yo shit will be ALOT louder.

I don't personally like the high-pass filter on my 4 channel amp. also, the pioneer head unit doesn't block off enough bass with its HPF either. so, I got the bass blockers and everything seems alright. as long as they arent getting bass im happy. my front speakers are just a filler. you can barely hear them with the JLs going. the only reason i'd get rid of them is if bass blockers lower sound quality, which i don't know. I can't hear a difference and they cut off anything below 800hz. Here is a link tho the ones I use.

in most cases you get what you pay for..... and jl is some of the best stuff around. If you pay 250 dollars for jl speakers they will sound like 250 dollars. But im really happy with alpine being cheaper and almost as good as most other high end brands. I hope to have an all JL system soon. JL OWNZ!!!!!
