new fuse = capacitor alarm

Hello everyone, I'm new to the 12v game and this is my first build. I have two 12" JL W6's running off of a JL 1000/1 at 2 ohms with a tsunami 5 farad cap and 4 gauge wiring throughout. A couple of days ago I blew the 80amp inline fuse. Today I went and bought a new 100amp anl fuse, installed it and when I turned the car on to see if everything was back to normal, the capacitor was beeping and reading 160V on the display. For now I disconnected the power cable to the cap so it wouldn't beep while I drive but I have no bass. Thanks in advance for the help.

ok so i went and checked the cap this morning and it reads 160A and also I think that my amp might be toast. I started smelling melting plastic and disconnected as fast as I could. I drove my car around the block with my amp powered straight from the battery and it works, but my battery light on my dash comes on. If I turn my stereo off the light goes away.

to rechare the cap, you have to hook it to a lightbulb and charge it up, but i think its fully charged when the bulb goes off
i used a testing light, but it never went off. It charged it though to about 12 volts. Theres vids on youtube on how to do this.

edit: and if you cap says 160 and your fuse is an 80 won't it blow? Try a 200

fu ck charging bulbs and light just spark it a couple times thatll charge it but im in the club DITCH THE CAP too. get a cheap *** walmart battery for starters (49.99-79.99, less than the cap in guessing) or a kinetik hc600 ~100.00. capa are worthless there for voltage reserve not amperage an amp needs amperage to work better.
