New fuse blew right when it touched

15 amp fuse

Blew the first one within the first 30 minutes of my system

Bought a pack of 15 amp fuses-tried to put on in...and......BAM!

it blew right when it touched....

you may have the pos+neg wired incorrectly on the amp. or you may have stray wires touching something.

i went through 3 80 amp fuses on my 1206d before I realized i had done that lol.

15A sounds kinda small IMO. i would do more like 50 / 60.

600 watts / 13.8 volts = 44 amps. That fuse will pop everytime your music hits. Get a bigger fuse.

also make sure that all your wires are where they need to be and there isn't a dead short somewere.

30 will still probably pop. good idea's to look at are right were the pos. wire goes though the firewall, and where the wires go into the amp. sometimes u get a stray wire or two that wiggle over to the neg. both those will make a fuse blow right away.

edit: or maybe there is something blown inside your amp. does is have a fuse on it?

That 30 amp fuse will blow as well. While a fuse is the proper device to have blow rather than output transistors, you're going to get tired of replacing them.

Just put a 40-50 amp fuse on it, and be done with it.

it ran for 30 min's then blew the first time, then everytime afterwards. thats why i threw in a bad amp.

might i add. try to get a circut breaker. they can be a life saver when it comes to things like that.
