New Couple quick questions.

Does it matter how close to the magnet the back of the box is? I am looking at a 13TW5 and need a thin box. Looking at building one 40x18x3.7

2nd question. I am wanting to mount a sub in the top of my trunk to replace the existing 10" bose sub, I had planed on Fiberglassing the front or top of the box on the underside of the trunk. So I will be laying on back doing this over my head. Is this doable? Thanks guys

Nope, as long as you remember to take into account the displacement of the sub, it should be fine.

Thanks for the quick reply. Not wanting to ask a stupid question but what is driver displacement? Sounds like the amount of space in the box the sub will occupy. I used this web site http://ccs.exl.info/calc_box.html to calculate the size of the box i need. Here is the sub info. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/14467.pdf Any help would be great. I lay up and trim fiberglass for a living, and it shouldn't be too difficult for you.

Make sure you protect the area directly underneath you, wear safety glasses, perhaps a dust mask (you don't want resin dripping into your mouth).

You should be fairly easy with the amount of resin you apply to avoid excessive dripping, or even better, try wetting the fiberglass ply out on something like a thin plastic sheet or Saran Wrap, and then peeling it off and applying it where you need it.
