New (Cheap) System...

I need to redo my bass. My last sub blew out and I just want something new. I wanna run two 12s, but I'm not sure what kind. I'm gunna need the new subs and a new amp. Tryin' to get loud, but not competition loud (street bass). Trunk space isn't a problem. Maybe a 60/40 (Spl/Sq), or something around there. Lookin to spend around $300 (I know it's cheap but I gotta pay for other stuff). Any help is appreciated.

I was thinking about the SE's, but the site says that they're $239. Also, the amp to push those has gotta be around $250, I was lookin to stay around $300 for the everything (Subs and Amp). I can get the box built for very little, so that's of no concern. Any other ideas?

ignore the price on REs site....email them at sales@respl.com and get a quote...the price for an SE is around 150 bucks....an amp would be about the same (jbl 600.1).

RE SE's are more like $180 i think, and are 60/40 blend. Although, you could only get like 1 sub with those. You could go with something more like a adire shiva, but those are more SQ than SPL, and still $125 a peice. I think for a decent setup, you need to widen ur pocket, and just wait for the money. $300 for sub and amp isnt going to be great, like tpye s's and a legacy amp? let us know what u think..

I was just looking at the Shiva's, but what's the RMS on them? I couldn't find it on the website. Also, what kind of amp would I use to push those. I might be able to scrape together a little more than the $300, but I'm not too sure. I DEFINATELY wanna stay away from Legacy (My friend had a 1000W amp and it caught fire in his trunk). Thanks for all of the replys.

shiva could use about 400 watts....thats all thats neccesary. anything past that is useless and could even hurt the sub. if you are gonna go economically then use JBL amps...personally i would go with an RE SE for the bump and then a JBL BP600.1 for around 175 from ebay or ikesound.com...
