well im finally selling my truck and im gonna get a 97 grand prix 2 door . I wanna keep my amp and get another one just like it , so amps wont be a problem but i need to know about subs . I wanna get 2 subs so i can put one amp to each . I was thinking about getting another 12'' type r or i was thinking about selling it and getting 2 15'' diamond d3's . Which setup would be louder ? I listen to rap and r&b .

From what I have read on these forums, two type r's will get very loud ported with the right amount of power. You would be slightly underpowering them even with two of the amps you have now. I reccomend you sell the amp you have now and get something that does about 1600 wrms to power them.

i just went out and measured and i only got about 17-18 inches to work with so 15's would be reallll right .. im just gonna get 2 good 12's

never heard them so i couldnt compare to an Type R. dont like the R enough to get a second one?

not really .. but im wondering if it could be the sealed box ? b/c i heard they perform really well in ported boxes instead of sealed . But i was talkin to a guy on ecoustics who has installed plenty of subs and he said he installed a niche audio 15'' this weekend and it was very loud and clear , spl louder than a type r and sq better than his diamond d3 , plus the sub looks sexy but that could not mean anything

If u want good subs, go wit the diamonds. The hype r just loud and thats it.

ofcoarse the problem you have with the type R is the sealed box. sealed boxes don't get loud. they are the single most inefficient thing on earth except for two-hands-tied boxing. saying loud and sealed is like saying loud and JL.......or tight and W7.......performance and Audiobahn........never frying and Kicker. ok...I had my fun. You want loud and you will forever be pissed off and disappointed with anything sealed....until you are maybe 30 years old or something. porting is free, take advantage of it.
