Hey whats going on, I need some help answering a few questions.

Just traded my car for a new truck. I have a head unit, amp, and sub in my old car. I am trying to take out the head unit and amp under the driver seat in my car.

Question 1: Can I take out just the amp and have the head unit still work and leave the wiring for the sub?

Question 2: I have the original head unit and want to take my Eclipse AVN5510 out to sell to get started on my new system. I am nervous about taking that out with the GPS antenna and everything and getting the original head unit to work. How complicated is that gonna be?

Question 3: How hard is it to take the amp out? Its under the driver seat and I think the ground cable is welded down or screwed in under the seat. Is that going to be a big deal?

Thanks for your help.

1. Yes as long as the amp was only for a sub and not the speakers.. if there was one for the speakers if you take it out you need to wire the speakers back to the h.u

2.the gps antenna is easy. you unplug it from the radio and find the actual antenna on your roof.. it is most likely a magnet and will pull up and you just pull the wire up softly.. don't jerk it if its stuck. Put the old radio back it.. if you or whoever installed it used a harness with the eclipse then you can just unplug the eclipse harness and put the old radio back in.

the amp is easy.. disconnect the wires.. unscrew it pull it out.. if you want to leave the wires for others tape up the end of the power wire

Seeing that you just asked if your head unit will work if you pull the amp, I recommend you take it to your local car audio shop to remove it.

I was just making sure no need to poke fun at the new guy.

I would have to take the driver seat out to get to the amp and dont wanna mess up the car seeing as I am turning it in to a dealer and already have my truck. Any advice?

As for the GPS wire, its not a magnet on the roof, its in front of the dash right up agains the window on a vent. I am sure its stuck down by something but am afraid to just pull it up. Any advice?

the seats should just be 4 bolts.. is it a power or manual seat?

gps wire/antenna should be a metal pad with sticky stuff on the bottom.. they stick the metal sticky pad down then the antenna on top since its a magnet.
