my question is that if i use 3/8" plyboard and then coat it on the outside- maybe even on the inside-with like a spray-in bedliner material will that give it the stregth not to flex like 3/4" MDF

nope, MDF is really solid, no possible way is 3/8 ply gonna match up to 3/4 MDF. if you used 3/4 ply instead of 3/8 you might get close if you soak it in resin

After you spend the money on bedliner any money you would of saved from using 3/8 instead of 3/4 MDF is out the door.

my guess is he already has the stuff he`s asking about laying around. just like i`m gonna use a sheet of 3/4 plywood to build a box cause its been sitting for a year and i have no other use for it.

why not just build with 3/4" MDF?

b/c im trying to get as much air space as possible the box is going in a reg. cab mini truck

Use 1/2" MDF and some internal bracing depending on how big a box you are talking about.

what if i build a frame of the box out of like 1x2 or 2x2 lumber then cover that with glass

one dont use plywood the vibration can cause the layers to de-laminate and sound like a queefing ******

one in the price your going to pay for fiberglass materials you coulda used mdf.

truck bedliner is flexible.

you have already moved up to 1/2 inch mdf just use 3/4.

ya im persisted but i dont like using something thats not right for the job
