new box help

I have a Digital Designs 3515 wired @ 1 0hm, powered by a Hifonics 1605D. I drive a ford focus, 4 door, with the trunk and i want a new box. I am thinking about doing something through the rear deck. And/or use aeroports somehow in the design. I want to get loud but still hit the lows so what should the tuning frequency be? It is recommended at 40hz. I had port foward and sub forward, it sounded pretty good but didnt get that loud. Port back subs back is good in a trunk. What do you mean by didn't sound good? im assuming trunk rattle or rear shelf rattle? Port and subs to the front will bypass most of that rattle, but you're either firing into the backseat or unsealed into a wide open cabin.
